A website build for an award-winning sixth form college.
Lowestoft Sixth Form College is an award-winning, modern, purpose-built sixth-form college in the town of Lowestoft in the English county of Suffolk.
The college approached Platinum Digital needing a redesign of their existing website which had become outdated and no longer met the needs of prospective students, current students and parents.

After a discovery session with internal teams, a brief was constructed outlining the key ideas behind the redesign and how it would be beneficial to the college.
The main aim of the website redesign was to update the CMS which the site was based upon enabling the website to be refreshed with a clean user experience for all visitors and enabling the college to be more flexible with the showcasing of news, events and the overall business of the college.
Design & Build Strategy
To successfully meet the brief for the project, we built the site upon the WordPress CMS which features a simple user interface for content creation meeting the needs of the college for flexibility. We then built upon the CMS to include advanced editing capabilities to separate all areas of the site into individual sections making it much clearer.
The redesign involved restructuring the user interface and sitemap to make all content clearer to visitors and easily accessible from all devices. Alongside structure, implementation of the college brand colours was reconsidered site-wide with the college orange taking the front seat for all key elements.
Modular Website Build
Our unique approach to WordPress theme development has provided the college with a site that is fully flexible and expandable meaning they have the ability to add, modify, delete and reorganise content as needed to promote the various events they run throughout the year ensuring they don’t go missed. When content isn’t required all of the time, we have integrated the ability to hide sections from the dashboard making it much easier for internal teams to manage the site.
The build empowers the college to create new content enabling them to effectively market their offering across multiple platforms to cater for their broad audiences.
